It
wasn’t until High School when I took Biology for the first time and seeing my
sister in Med School that I realized what my career would be: Medicine. It
wasn’t an easy decision seeing as how I knew the sacrifice and hours upon hours
of study that it would entail, but something deep inside, like a nagging
feeling, made me take the leap. Knowing how much it would cost to pursue this
career, my parents still supported me and still do. Every time I feel as though I’m too tired to
keep going, they tell me that they believe in me and that if anybody can do it,
it’s me. It’s hard for me to describe how much I appreciate all the
encouragement I get from my family, but if it weren’t for them, I don’t know
how my life would have turned out.
My
whole life has been backed up by the thought that if I do my best and go after
the things I want, then everything will turn out fine. Maybe at first it seems like things aren’t
shaping up to be as expected, but if one gives it his or her all, there isn’t
anything to regret. At the end of the
day, my journey has not been about following a path, but rather about falling
down constantly, with the scars to prove it, and learning to pick myself up
along the way. As written by William Ernest Henley in Invictus: “I am the
master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.”

Nice music! Good use of the quote. Try adding more hyperlinks!
ReplyDeleteIt's ver nice to hear that there are parents that aprove their kids' decisions about their future plans. I mention this because there are some parents as today who only cares about that the child study whatever they want him/her to do with his/her life. I also love the picture you included at the top of your entry, it's so true and encourage you to hold your life's ropes.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I feel like giving up on something, I recite the whole poem or at least those last two verses to help my morale.
